Counselling involves attentive listening to you and your problematic situation. The ‘listening’ involves hearing what you say, how you say it, and who you are in the story of the problem. The very nature of this will enable you to see your situation more clearly and help you find a way ahead that is right for you. I do this in a non-judgemental compassionate way so that, throughout the process, you will feel more empowered in your problematic situation and in your life.
Stress management involves counselling skills to enable me to ‘hear’ your story around your stress and how it affects you. I then use different exercises along with my listening skills, to help you find better ways of supporting yourself in your life, leading to a greater sense of personal well-being.
Personal well-being clients who come looking for ways of living a more meaningful life (according to their own sense of what is meaningful to them) will have access to all the above skills and I will introduce a more meditative way of ‘being’ and a more connected way of living with themselves and life.
I offer online and telephone counselling by appointment. I believe that it is the partnership built between the client and the counsellor or therapist which creates the basis of the helping relationship and provides an environment that is safe, supportive, and challenging.
I consider the client as an expert in their own life. I offer an exploratory first meeting where you can discuss whatever concerns you have, before deciding about further sessions. My service is flexible in terms of number of sessions. Sessions last 50 minutes and are usually weekly at a fixed time.
