What is Counselling?

Counselling is a process that offers you the opportunity to explore issues that may be causing you concern or distress. During these times of distress, you may experience feelings and emotions that seem difficult to cope with alone. These issues may have bothered you for some time or maybe the result of a recent event, crisis, or loss.

Counseling is a very individual experience. Some people come for a few sessions, and others come over a longer period of time. Some people are very clear about what areas in their lives they want to explore. Other people feel less clear about where to start and what they need to do.

How can counselling help?

Counselling can support you through these difficult times. It is very important that you feel able to talk about whatever you want to talk about within the counselling relationship.

I offer a therapeutic relationship based on confidentiality, respect, and trust. The counselling relationship that I offer can enable you to find a greater understanding of your own particular experiences, whatever they may be, within a safe and confidential environment.

Through mutual respect and trust, counselling can enable you to gain greater control over life’s challenges, so that you can find a way forward that feels right for you.
