What Is Counselling?

Counselling means working together with a professional counsellor, talking through the issues troubling you, and arriving at better and more appropriate perspectives, that allow you to move on, in life. We all need help from time to time, with traumatic events, life changes, relationship difficulties, conflict with family members, and other mental health issues.

Getting independent help from an experienced therapist or appropriate mental health professionals can free your mind from what you thought an event meant, about you, or your life. Speaking to a professional counsellor about your issues gives you the opportunity to share your thoughts and feelings, and open up, in a way not usually possible during daily life.

Each in-person session is a safe and supportive space within which to explore and better understand the stress and life issues you face. Understanding the past and coming to peace with it, provides new avenues for the future, you hadn’t realised were there. Many find the experience liberating.
